How are Recruitment-only services different from NTN? How much does the testing process cost? There is a base fee for testing and an additional cost for each additional department added. Test scores are sent to all departments added. The prices vary based on the test (fire, police, emergency communication, etc). All costs are outlined in NTN's Cost Table. Can we help cover the cost of Candidates? Yes, departments can cover the expense of testing with the NTN voucher program. Please contact us for more information on how to set this up and the different options available. Does NTN offer a program for financial hardship or other restrictions? Departments have many different ways of determining and handling financial hardship. We will help departments integrate their processes into NTN, but it will be the departments' responsibility to identify, approve and cover candidate fees in cases of hardship determination. How will National Testing Network recruit candidates? Our goal is to recruit as many qualified and diverse candidates as possible to test for each individual department. Advertising will start with links from department websites. This will guide candidates to our website to schedule a test. We will provide numerous additional advertising and marketing efforts to capture the necessary candidate pools for your posting. NTN will continuously monitor these advertising and marketing resources to find the most qualified candidates for your opening(s). Additionally, we will use national resources to guide candidates to departments they might not otherwise have considered. What tests are used? NTN uses simulation tests developed by Ergometrics and Applied Personnel Research, Inc. For more information about these tests click on the specific test on the left side navigation. If you would like a presentation or demonstration material for these tests, please contact Ergometrics. We already own or license Ergometrics tests. Do we need to sign up for the NTN Service? NTN is a separate service from Ergometrics. NTN offers test administrative services using professional tests from Ergometrics. Departments that are currently licensed to use Ergometrics tests and offer their own testing sessions can also benefit from increased testing through NTN. NTN has demonstrated to be an effective model in reducing cost and is almost always a less expensive way of testing. How often are tests given? Almost every day! One of the largest benefits to using NTN services is the continuous testing model. There are thousands of test sessions per year across the country. National Testing Network Support is available to candidates during the testing process. What does continuous testing mean for our department? Continuous testing provides the maximum amount of flexibility for candidates to participate. This flexibility provides departments with the largest, most up-to-date and qualified candidate pool possible. Continuous testing eliminates recruitment delays, such as minimum job recruitment and application periods. Candidates are always welcome to test. Even letting candidates know that they have made your list will keep qualified candidates eagerly awaiting a job with your department. What if we need to create an eligibility list? Eligibility lists can be created using the NTN continuous testing model. Your department can choose when you would like to establish the list and at that point in time you can create an eligibility list composed of all candidates who have applied to your department and met your requirements. All the tools for creating this eligibility list are already a part of NTN. We will also inform your candidates of your eligibility dates and requirements. When are results given? Results are provided within a few days of a candidate's exam, depending on the testing center. Some testing centers administer exams on computers, so their results are available as soon as the candidates are completed with their exams. Department representatives will have a dedicated login to check candidate scores and print eligibility lists. Results can also be provided to department representatives via email. What results are given to the department? Departments will receive all results for candidates who specifically apply to their department. This includes all application information, test score results and physical ability test scores. NTN will utilize Ergometrics' video simulation tests, which provide detailed dimensional scoring for each candidate. All departments will also be able to view their candidates' dimensional scores. For more information about scoring or dimensional scores, please contact National Testing Network. How do we sign up for this service? Signing up is easy. All you have to do is provide us with your hiring criteria (e.g., minimum qualifications and other eligibility factors) and we will start the process for you. Do we need to sign a long term annual membership? National Testing Network has several annual membership options. At a minimum, we require departments to sign up for one year. This gives candidates a fair chance to sign up and test for your department and know that their results will be accepted. How are you able to offer your service for less cost to the candidate? National Testing Network is a partner company with Ergometrics, testing experts and the leader in simulation test development, with over 1000 clients nationwide. Ergometrics developed and validated the most impressive line of tests available for public safety jobs. Ergometrics directly provides high quality tests to National Testing Network for low cost. How are Recruitment-only services different from NTN? Recruitment-only services do not include test scheduling, administration, our video-simulation, online tests, candidate support, or scoring.
